In the MORTAR collection, we embrace untreated aluminium to showcase its natural beauty, which may include unique surface imperfections. This choice also highlights its sustainability, as aluminium can be recycled indefinitely without losing quality.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
For maintenance and cleaning, use plain water or a mild soap solution to gently clean the surface. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaks from forming. Take care to remove any cleaner residue from edges and rivets, and avoid leaving liquids on the surface, as this may lead to staining.
PLEASE NOTE:
Untreated aluminium, being a natural material, will develop a distinctive patina over time, enhancing the individuality of each piece.
HOW TO CARE: PAINTED STEEL
Painted steel in our designs provides robustness and a sleek finish, requiring gentle care to preserve its appearance over time.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
For cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with water or a mild, neutral detergent mix to wipe the surface. Follow immediately with a dry cloth to remove any soap residue. Avoid scouring creams, pads, or abrasive materials that could scratch the surface, and do not use solvents, chemical cleaners, acetic acid, or citric acid, as these may harm the coating. You may also wipe the dust with a dry cloth, if the surface is not this dirty.
PLEASE NOTE:
Please note that the painted steel may show slight wear over time, adding to its unique character. Protect it from prolonged moisture exposure to prevent potential finish degradation.

Our painted speakers feature a protective coating that enhances both their aesthetics and durability. Proper care is essential to preserve the finish and ensure optimal sound quality over time.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
To maintain them, wipe the surface with a clean, soft cloth moistened with water or a mild, neutral detergent solution. Immediately follow with a dry cloth to remove any soap residue and prevent buildup. Avoid using scouring pads, creams, or abrasive tools that might scratch the coating, and steer clear of solvents, chemical cleaners, acetic acid, or citric acid, as these can damage the paint finish.
PLEASE NOTE:
White is a beautiful colour, but please keep the speakers away from direct sunlight or extreme humidity to maintain the coating’s integrity and keep it's snow-white shade.
HOW TO CARE: GLASS
Toughened, low-iron crystal clear glass, incorporated into our lamps, is designed for durability and safety, offering greater resistance to impact compared to standard glass. Its smooth surface enhances MORTAR’s minimalist design, though it requires specific care to maintain its clarity and strength.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
TURN THE LAMP OFF FIRST!
To clean, wipe the glass with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a glass cleaner formulated for toughened glass. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch or weaken the surface. Dry with a microfiber cloth to eliminate water spots or streaks, and handle with care to prevent sudden temperature changes that might cause thermal shock..
PLEASE NOTE:
Please note that toughened glass may exhibit minor imperfections from its manufacturing process, adding to its authentic character. Ensure a proper mounting (both the lamp itself, and the wall bracket) to avoid what usually happens when heavy objects are not properly mounted.
